Success is You

THE TRUE MEANING OF SUCCESS

YOU!

Woman-Celebrating-raising-hands-to-the-sky-God-Empowered-Success

Success. What does it really mean? Many people define success as knowing how to make money effortlessly.  The very definition, for some, means having money, and lots of it, secured in their bank account.  Some define success as having “made it” whatever that means.  There are those who define success as being powerful, rich and famous with millions of dollars to purchase anything their heart desires.  Living in a mansion in the exclusive section of the city, driving an expensive top of the line car with all the luxuries that makes it the top of the line, while enjoying all the amenities that a certain lifestyle brings.  Being able to afford the finest things in life becomes the norm, but what are the finest things in life.  I guess the finer things in life are material goods and I guess it can also be defined as buying the best high quality anything that money can buy.  It’s nice to have a million dollars.  It’s nice to experience being able to pay bills without struggling.  It’s a joy to have the money you need to buy good wholesome high quality foods week after week without ever having to worry how you are going to make ends meet.  It’s a blessing to know that your electricity will not be turned for nonpayment, but being a millionaire definitely does not define success.

WHAT SUCCESS IS NOT!

Success is not getting dressing up, wearing a formal black suit as if you were going on an interview for a job to earn just enough wages to pay a bill or two.

WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS ARE SUCCESSFUL WOMEN IN BUSINESS

If you’re an entrepreneur and you’re doing things God’s way then you are the definition of success.  Have you looked at yourself lately?  Have you thought about your character, your attributes and how kind, considerate, compassionate, nice, polite, thoughtful and caring you are?  Do you take time to share all that you have, blessings of wisdom, understanding and an abundance of knowledge with those who need it?  Do you take time to listen to that voice crying out for help?  Do you take time from your schedule to help someone in need?  What about praying; do you pray for other people’s success?  Are you honest and trustworthy?  Well, depending on how you’ve answered these questions and as a woman of God, I would have to say that your definition of success should be you!

THE TRUE MEANING OF SUCCESS IS YOU!

Think Outside the Box

Think Outside the Box

Think-Outside-the-Box

What Box!

Think outside the box.  What box is the question.  Have you ever asked yourself what does this mean?

There use to be a time, that, whenever I heard the term think outside the box, my mind would start racing desperately trying to understand what it meant to think outside the box.  I began trying to come up with new ideas that pertained to my business. I truly believed I was living in a box and maybe I was, but this was not the case where my business was/is concerned because I have and continue to use my gifts every day doing what I love.

Now when I hear or read the phrase, Think Outside the Box, I say to myself what box?  I realize that there is no box.  There were, however, limits that I placed on myself which made me think that there was a box, but now I am free to do what I want to do and as an entrepreneur, the list never ends and I love it.

There is an enormous university out there and you are truly free to do and be whatever you long to do and be. There is no one and I mean nothing that can stop you from accomplishing your goals.  You can live the life you dream about every day of your life if that is the vision you see when you lay down at night or when you wake up in the morning. If you are saying to yourself that you are living outside the box, ask yourself, to what box are you referring.  If you feel like you are being limited by your present situation like perhaps working for someone else and you are not totally using all of your gifts, then it’s time to rise, climb and shine and break those barriers that hold you back from doing what you want to do.  Life is a blessing and it is filled with an abundance of everything you need to be a highly successful and phenomenal entrepreneur; wisdom, wealth, knowledge, ornaments of grace and a host of business tools that you can use to ensure your financial freedom.

Don’t Get Trapped into Thinking

You Need to Think Outside the Box

A goldfish jumping out of the water to escape to freedom. White background.

Don’t get trapped into believing that you need to think outside the box because you are not and have never been in a box.  I understand that thinking outside the box means going above and beyond your present situation.  I know that it means doing things differently than ever before to take your business to the next level.  Always remember this should you reflect upon the steps it took to get you to this point;Just know that you already have everything you need to be the brilliant entrepreneur you know you are.  Don’t get trapped and enjoy being free to be the brilliant creator that has designed her business by thinking outside the box you were never in in the first place!

It’s Time to Make Money

It’s Time to Make MoneyMake money smarter

It’s time to make money because you deserve it!

Are you an entrepreneur and you are not making money in your business?  If you are an entrepreneur and you need to make money, now is the time!  There is a large directory on the internet that contains some really great information on how to become an entrepreneur.  It will tell you how to start your business and maybe even what kind of business you can birth.  It will also tell you that you’ll need have a website presence, which of course includes a domain name and so on and so forth, but unfortunately the one thing that it doesn’t really tell you is how to make money right in the comfort of your own home. Now, you probably already know that there are a zillion businesses that you can start that has the potential to make you a lot of money; from typing and transcribing to crafting and designing, the list is endless. Anyone can be an entrepreneur, but not everyone is making the kind of money they expect to make when they envision becoming an entrepreneur.  When entrepreneurs open the doors to their own businesses they anticipate making a whole lot of money and why shouldn’t entrepreneurs dream of and work toward their financial wealth?  For some, this is the very reason that they start their own businesses in the first place; to make the kind of money they believe they deserve.  For many entrepreneurs they can’t seem to make enough money to buy gas for their cars.  Making money as an entrepreneur is just a dream they chase after every single day of their businesses.  What is the key to making the kind of money you really need on a weekly basis? It’s so much easier than you could ever imagine.

Make money in business

When you work for a small or large corporation you are guaranteed to collect a paycheck at the end of two weeks most of the time. It’s very rare that anyone gets paid on a weekly basis anymore. I don’t think anyone should have to wait two weeks to collect a paycheck after working diligently and being faithful to their employer by showing up to work five days a week working eight hours a day. Many people are choosing to start businesses of their own for many different reasons. Some people are just tired of being limited in terms of how much money they make. It takes a whole lot of money these days to make ends meet and when someone tells you how much your skills are worth, it can be discouraging. You already know how much you’re worth; you can’t put a price tag on it.  The zeros at the end of the number 10 never stops growing.  You are beyond brilliant, super intelligent, highly talented, truly gifted and you have the ability to utilize all of these components to make a highly profitable and successful business of your own.

Your Passion

Make Money in Business

Here you are gifted and blessed.  You see when you use your gifts you are thinking outside of the box to create and design a unique and highly powerful business of your very own which leads to achieving your goal of making money. It’s exciting and fulfilling when you decide to become a real business owner. You can leverage your business and make endless amounts of money daily if that’s your goal. It doesn’t have to be complicated and you certainly don’t need a college degree. Your college degree is your gift and vice versa. Make a design, put your name on it and hang it on your office wall in your home so that when people see it they will see that you have all the degrees you need; your gifts from God.

Making Money and a Whole Lot of It Because You Deserve It!

Steph Curry, One of the NBA’s Finest

Make Money Step Curry

Making money seems to be the hardest thing for entrepreneurs. People have you believing that they are making a mint when in reality they are not making a red penny at the close of the week and it shouldn’t be this way. You should be tapping into your reservoir of finances making six to seven figures every year. I have read that most businesses fail within the first five years after starting, but I just don’t believe nor do I accept this because if you are using the gifts God has bestowed upon you and you’re using them exactly how God is telling you to use them there is absolutely no way that you can fail. In fact I know for a fact that you can start making tons of money immediately after opening the doors of your business. When you launch your business you are launching your great success. When athletes get drafted in the NFL (National Football Association) or NBA (National Basketball Association) they don’t have to wait before they begin making money. They get enormous bonuses as soon as they get signed by their teams. Now I know that you’re probably thinking that these athletes are working for huge associations who pay their salaries, but the relevance is the same.  These spectacular athletes, well most of them any way, are using their God-given gifts and talents to play the game they love and they play it with passion.

When Kobe Bryant, one of my favorite and best players to ever grace the game, entered into the NBA, his focus wasn’t on making millions of dollars.  He was focused on doing something he truly loved; playing the game of basketball and he mastered it like no other.  Kobe plays with passion and a whole of enthusiasm.  I say this to say that when you’re in business your focus should never be to make money, but to share your gifts and talents with the world and then you know what, the money will just flow to you!

Kobe Bryant Plays with Passion and Enthusiasm!

Kobe Bryant makes money doing what he loves

While I understand that you may not think its wise to compare your business to that of a pro athlete I think it’s wise to do so because you are just as talented as they are, probably even more so, and you deserve big bonuses as well you just have to understand that your bonuses and money will come in a different way, but you can best believe that it will come. Kobe Bryant spoke it, believed it and he received it all and so should you!!!!!!!

In my graphic design business I was making nine dollars a day but only here and there. It wasn’t consistent and that was my fault completely. To make the kind of money I dreamed about I knew I had to do things differently which was to change my mindset and speak encouragement over my business and my oh my did this prove fruitful for Cyndi’s Light Work Designs. Yes. It is just that easy. I wasn’t working harder, but instead  I started thinking smarter which changed the scope of my business completely.

When I started designing, my goal and hope was that people around the globe and across the pond would see my masterpieces and fall in love with them and that is exactly what has happened.  I never thought about how much money I could making selling my unique pieces of wall art, but just that people would see my works which glorify God.

Your Competition

Your business is the real thing.

When I started magic fingers typing service all I knew was this;  I was an excellent typist. I typed fast and I typed with 100% accuracy. I designed a flyer and I opened the doors to my business within a few months after I had given it careful and serious thought.

Magic Fingers Typing Services

Magic Fingers was birthed from my gifts and skill set and in September 2002, I opened the doors to my typing/secretarial business; it was an immediate success. I was overjoyed. I did absolutely no research on how to start, promote, market, manage or grow a legitimate business of my own.  I had a thriving typing business that gave me the financial rewards I had longed for, but I was not being fulfilled in terms of enjoying what I did. All the money did was help to pay bills and tuition.  I liked to type, but I didn’t like typing for others and even though business was pouring in in the form of dissertations, term papers, resumes, correspondence, followup letters and more, I just wasn’t satisfied and I was not happy.  In other words, a secretarial business was not for me and that was because once I found my passion to design, which was much greater than anything I could have ever imagined for myself, I had to say goodbye to Magic Fingers almost as quickly as I started it.

When I started Cyndi’s Light Work Designs, I decided to do extensive research on how to grow a graphic design business.  The one thing that stayed in and stuck out in my mind was, CHECK OUT THE COMPETITION. Well for me the competition was and has never been a question, worry or concern. I look at my business like this and I think you should too.

I started and built my businesses on truth, on the foundation of Gods word which has been the link to my long-lasting success and success for me is not financial, but happiness, peace, fulfillment and contentment. I am a true Christian woman entrepreneur.  How can I accomplish anything on my own strength. I cant. How can I as a Christian woman start a business without God. I can’t and I’m smart enough to not make any attempts to try. How can my businesses live, breathe and thrive without my Savior in whom I love, believe and trust with all my heart, soul, mind, might and strength.

Marketing for Money

Marketing for Money in Your Business

CynthiaBoyer1043982_592900910731875_1070468150_n

A month ago a gentleman came to my home to give me a price on three windows.  I knew I was going to be conned the second the salesman walked into my home with his briefcase, laptop and pad.  I, of course, let him deliver his marketing speech to me and my husband. He told us how Andersen Windows are the best windows in the business and that my current windows looked horrible.  He then went on to explain to us that vinyl windows are dated, not economic and just down right bad.  He told us that if we decided to purchase his windows, his crew would do an excellent job installing the windows and they would do a thorough cleanup after construction is complete.

After he told us of all this, he quoted us a price of $13,000 for three windows!  I could not believe what I was hearing.  He pressed on telling us that he was giving us a discount on the windows in addition to another 25% discount “because I can since I’m the boss!”  My oh my is this going to get any worse.  At that moment, my husband had to leave because he had a previous appointment, but before leaving me with this man my husband informed him that he just doesn’t jump without giving the matter careful and serious thought and consideration.  The salesman said that the price would not be valid once he walks out our front door.  I really liked the windows and the transformation potential the beauty of the window offered, but I wasn’t willing to be taken advantage of.  He then told us that we could get the windows financed and we wouldn’t have to pay a penny until next year.  He called his finance company and they approved me right on the spot for the windows.  This man was so pushy and adamant about me getting those windows that I knew it was a bad idea for me to even consider purchasing anything from him.  I don’t think too many people like pushy sales people…I know I don’t.

Antiquated and Dated

Yesterday, Thursday, July 9th, a young man knocked on my door from a pest control company.  He was about 18 years and was going from door-to-door selling this service that promised to kill all the bugs that are hiding in my walls, all the beetles that are lurking outside of my home in addition to the bees and wasps that may have built a nest in the eaves of my home.  He told me that the service $105 along with taxes and any other fees associated with it.  He told me that he was doing a followup with his customers who live in my development.  I kindly asked him who my neighbors were who had acquired his service and he went on to tell me that he didn’t have the list on him.  This poor child was out in all that heat and humidity, clothes sopping wet, desperate for a sale.  I explained to him that I had an exterminator, but of course he told me that with all the dead beetles outside that if his guy sprayed my home I won’t see any bugs at all.  I don’t know how in the world that would be possible when the bugs have been here on this earth long before we got here and will be here long after we are gone.  Anyway, this young gentleman seemed really desperate and he gave the same spiel that the Andersen salesman had just given me a month prior.  I told him that I needed to think about it and he said he wouldn’t be able to give me the same price of $105 once he walks out the door.  Well, five bells rolled around and here he was again, knocking on my front door.  I told him that I wasn;t interested and that I would continue using my exterminator with whom I was really pleased.  He left my home, head down and highly disappointed.  A few minutes later he was knocking on my door again and this time he had something in his hand that looked like a credit card.  He told me that he had called his manager who said they would give me 50% off my initial service.  I told him that I had done research on the company and I read too many bad reviews and I wasn’t interested for the third time.

Here’s my thought:  I know that marketing is a form of lying; this may sound harsh, but it is. If someone is trying to earn my trust and business, I think the best way to accomplish this is to just be honest because most people can see through this marketing tactic that is old, antiquated and outdated.  It is dishonest and I don’t like to be conned into purchasing services that are overpriced and the quality low to non-existent.  I’m not saying that all companies are this way, but the ones that use this marketing ploy is a complete turn off for me.

Honesty is Always the Best Legacy!

Ladies, if you are a business owner, you can think outside of the box to come up with an honest and great marketing plan that will help to grow your business so that it thrives for as long as you’re in business.  Remember to be original, be truthful and be yourself!

Last year, I came in contact with a coach who was constantly calling and sending me emails telling me that she had dropped her price for her coaching services and that her price was going to change after 6 pm that same day.  I understand that this is business and for some, this is a way to obtain business.  This has never worked for me.  I believe in being totally honest.  Business is not always about making money, but providing and offering a service or product to those in need to perhaps change their lives or to be a help to make things easier, to flow in their lives is so much more important than making money because I believe giving people what they need blesses them in some way.  The coach was calling and emailing me removed me from her friend’s list on Facebook.  I was really surprised because I thought to myself that this was very unprofessional, but she had every right to remove me since I did not utilize her services and you know what, I’m glad she removed me because it taught me a very valuable lesson.

While I understand that marketing is important, it’s important to be honest with your customers/clients as well.  You will go much further if you’re honest because I believe most people can see through the dishonesty.

Blessings.
